Katherine Elizabeth Krohn

Katherine Elizabeth Krohn (born 1961) is an American author born in Bitburg, Germany to American-born parents, Don and Betty Krohn.[1] Krohn is a prolific writer of books for children and young adults. Writing for young reader's series such as USA Today Lifeline Biographies and A&E Biography (published by Lerner Publishing Group), her works include many well-reviewed titles, such as the Carter G. Woodson Honor Book Ella Fitzgerald: First Lady of Song,[2][3] and the Oregon Book Award contender Women of the Wild West.[4][5] In recent years, Krohn ventured from the biographical format to create graphic science and graphic history titles. She has authored metaphysical titles about fortune-telling and ghosts, fiction, and books about contemporary social issues.

In 2010, her Gateway Biography (Lerner) of pop superstar Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson: Ultimate Music Legend was published. The biography, which begins with Jackson's childhood and describes his early life with the Jackson 5, is "factual yet descriptively written," said reviewer Sarah O'Holla of School Library Journal. O'Holla also discussed how Krohn's narrative "takes readers on the journey of Jackson's incredible success and fame while handling the more difficult aspects of Jackson's life...in an age-appropriate, straightforward manner. A wide-ranging look at the celebrity's life and legacy." [6]

Katherine Krohn's biography of Stephenie Meyer, author of the Twilight series, was also released in 2010.[7][8] Krohn lives in Eugene, Oregon.[1]
